Welcome, Bienvenue

École St. Anne School was built on the West Hill in 1958, constructed to meet the needs of much expansion in this area. Its first principal was Sister Justine of the Servants of Mary order, and it is her name which is found on the dedication plaque of the modern auditorium which was later added.

The Servants of Mary had taught in some of the other separate schools, notably St. John’s, and were devoted in their extra curriculum teaching, such as that of the Ukrainian language at Saturday classes. Each school in the separate school system, while following certain fundamental principles, still possesses its own uniqueness.

Our Patron Saint

St. Anne is the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus.  When Anne and her husband Joachim prayed for a child, it seemed that God did not hear their prayers because many years passed and still no child.  However, they kept praying.

When it seemed that Anne was too old to have children, God answered their prayers and graced them with a child.  They called their special child, Mary, a name which means “incense that rises up to God”.  Mary became the most blessed of women as she was chosen to be the mother of the Messiah.

St. Anne demonstrated to us that prayer, perseverance, and gratitude are very important in life.  These values are important for us at École St. Anne School.  St Anne’s feast day is July 26.

Principal’s Message

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to École St. Anne School.

École St. Anne School is a Kindergarten to grade 8 dual track school offering both a French Immersion program and an English program. We are also proud to offer three prekindergarten programs for 3 and 4 year olds.

We hope to uphold the great tradition that makes this school an important part of our community. The school is well known for its dedicated and caring teaching and support staff, its strong relationship with our school parish as well as its supportive parent/guardian community. This reputation speaks to the importance placed on building a positive and mutually supportive home, school and parish partnership. It is this team approach that is so important when it comes to achieving the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences for the students at École St. Anne School. A school is just a building. What makes it special are the people inside; working together, helping each other, celebrating together and building a wonderful school community.

Once again, we look forward to working with all families in a collaborative and supportive manner. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We thank you for your continued interest in your child(ren)’s education.

† Have a great year and God bless!

Kathy Gaudet, Principal
